Why Panther Power Wash Supports Florida’s Real Panthers

A wild Florida panther — one of fewer than 200 left in the state.

When we named our business Panther Power Wash, it was about strength, precision, and getting the job done right — but the name means something more to us too. Right here in Florida, there’s a real panther fighting for its future, and it shares more than just a name with us.

Meet Florida’s Most Endangered Big Cat

The Florida panther is one of the most endangered mammals in North America. Today, only around 200 of them remain, living mostly in the western Everglades and surrounding wild lands of South Florida — the same region we’re proud to call home and serve.

These panthers once roamed across the entire southeastern United States. Habitat loss, development, and vehicle strikes pushed them to the brink of extinction by the mid-1900s. Thanks to decades of conservation work, their numbers have slowly climbed back from fewer than 30 individuals — but they’re still far from safe.

Our Connection to the Cause

As a local South Florida business, we feel a responsibility to give back to the region that supports us. Supporting Florida panther conservation felt like a natural fit — same state, same wild spirit, same name.

That’s why Panther Power Wash is proud to support the Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge and the panthers that depend on it.

How You Can Help Too

You don’t have to be a business owner to make a difference. Here’s how anyone in our community can support Florida’s panthers:

Become a member of Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge — memberships start at just $25 and directly fund conservation efforts
Visit the refuge near Immokalee to see the habitat these panthers call home
Spread awareness — most Floridians have never seen a wild panther and don’t realize how close to extinction they still are
Drive carefully in rural South Florida — vehicle collisions remain one of the leading threats to panther populations

A Name That Means Something

Every time we show up to power wash a driveway, roof, or pool deck in South Florida, we’re reminded of why we chose this name — strength, resilience, and a fierce commitment to doing things right. Supporting the real Florida panthers is our way of giving that name a little extra meaning.

Want to support the cause or just learn more? Check out Friends of the Florida Panther Refuge (floridapanther.org/become-a-member) to see how you can get involved.

And if your driveway, roof, or pool deck could use some Panther-strength cleaning of its own — we’ve got South Florida covered.
